Public Comment Sought on Highway 96 Dump Superfund Site

Contact: CoriAhna Rude-Young, 651-296-5965 Toll-free: 1-800-657-3684 Saint Paul, Minn. - The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) will hold a public information meeting on Feb. 26, 2008, to explain future cleanup plans for affected Highway 96 Dump Superfund Site properties located on the west side of Gilfillian Lake in North Oaks, Minn. The public meeting will be at the East Rec Center, located at 5 Mink Lane in North Oaks. An informal open house begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by a presentation at 7:30 p.m. with an opportunity for questions afterward. Public comments on all cleanup alternatives and supporting information will be accepted for 30 days beginning on Feb. 19. The proposed plan and other documents related to the site are available from the MPCA. Call 651-296-7805 to set up a time to review. The documents are also available on the city of North Oaks Web site at www.cityofnorth-oaks.com, at the public meeting, and will be mailed to all interested parties.
