Minnesota -- the Living is Green
Minnesotans are at the forefront of living green. According to The Green Guide, St. Paul is the fourth greenest city in the country and Minneapolis is ranked number 19. If you want to learn how to make a difference, mark your calendar for the sixth annual Living Green Expo. It's the largest comprehensive green event in the Midwest and takes place the weekend of May 5-6, 2007, at the State Fair Grandstand Building.
Last year, more than 14,000 people attended the Living Green Expo, from across the state and as far away as Portland, Ore. More than 97 percent of the event's waste was recycled or composted, and attendees donated about 600 pounds of food to Second Harvest Heartland. Nearly 250 exhibitors, including Natural Built Home and Birch Clothing, and 66 educational workshops offered attendees effective suggestions for living green.
The 2007 Living Green Expo, organized by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, is the perfect place to talk with green builders, see hybrid vehicles, sample organically-grown food, learn about renewable energy - and more - in one location. The Expo is divided into nine areas: transportation; energy; home building and remodeling; food; yard and garden; recreation and leisure; household products and practices; sustainability education and lifestyles; and arts and culture.
