Saint Paul, Minn. - What principles and practices make a remodeling project "green?" And how can you make your green projects cost-effective? Find out at the Green Remodeling Learning & Network Forum for professional remodelers and architects, sponsored by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). The event is Thursday, Jan. 25, from 7:30 - 11:30 a.m., at the Como Park Zoo & Conservatory Visitor Center.
This MPCA forum is the first of several green building-related educational events planned for 2007.
"Green building and remodeling is gaining momentum in the Twin Cities and nationwide as more builders, designers and consumers become aware of its economic and environmental benefits," says Erin Barnes-Driscoll, MPCA green building specialist. "The goal of the forum is to give professionals useful information that they can adapt and apply in their own businesses."
Carl Seville, green builder, educator and consultant, is the featured forum speaker. Michael Anschel of Otogawa-Anschel Design/Build will offer a sneak peak into the emerging Minnesota Green Remodeling Guidelines, under development with the assistance of a 2006 MPCA Environmental Assistance Grant.
Although the forum is free and includes a deluxe continental breakfast, you must register by Jan. 18. To register, send your name, title, company, phone number and e-mail address to vonda.sanders@state.mn.us or fax to 651-215-0246. For more information on the event, call Barnes-Driscoll at 651-215-0211 or Laura Millberg at 651-215-0219.
