Environmental Enforcement Actions Total Over $216,000 in First Quarter of 2006

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) concluded 29 enforcement cases totaling $216,393 in penalties during the first quarter of 2006. The cases occurred at facilities in 17 counties throughout Minnesota. The following is a brief summary of the 29 cases completed during the first three months of 2006:
· $55,000, Aircraft Service International Inc., Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, for tanks violations.
· 15,200, Lunda Construction Co., Blakely, Wis., for solid waste, hazardous waste and water qualtity violations.
· $15,000, Fleet Fueling Services of Minnesota, St. Paul, for emergency response and spill violations.
· $10,440, Minnesota Valley Alfalfa Producers, Priam, for air quality violations.
· $10,000, Dan Theobald, doing business as (dba) Dan's Container Service, Newport, for solid waste violations.
· $10,000, Virginia Regional Medical Center, Virginia, for hazardous waste violations. · $9,746, city of Wheaton, for water quality violations.
· $9,375, Marathon Petroleum Co., LLC, St. Paul Park, for water quality violations.
· $7,875, Loch Development HC, LLC-Hidden Creek of Chanhassen, Wayzata, for stormwater violations.
· $7,500, John Collins, Brian Sprino and Landworks Construction Inc., Cambridge, for asbestos violations.
· $6,900, Starbright Cleaners, Eden Prairie, for hazardous waste violations.
· $6,100, West Central Steel; Marcus Construction, Willmar, for stormwater violations.
· $5,925, Miller Sellner Implement Inc., Sleepy Eye, for hazardous waste, solid waste, and air quality violations.
· $5,850, Elk River Ford, Elk River, for hazardous waste violations.
· $5,775, Crystal Cabinet Works Inc., Sauk Rapids, for hazardous waste violations.
· $5,750, Naterra Land Corp., Seeley Scott & Eagle Contracting, Bass Lake, for stormwater violations.
· $4,000, Beebers Inc., dba Anchor Marine Repair, Delano, for hazardous waste violations.
· $3,500, Cernstone Products Co., Braham, for water quality violations
