Rochester, Minn. - The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) seeks comments on an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) and a draft air emissions permit prepared for Al-Corn Clean Fuel near Claremont, Minn.
Al-Corn Clean Fuel proposes expanding its existing ethanol plant near Claremont, in Dodge County. The expansion would increase the amount of corn processed at the plant from 13.2 to 18.5 million bushels per year and increase the output of 200-proof ethanol from 34.9 to 50 million gallons per year.
The EAW provides basic information about how a proposed project could potentially affect the environment, and helps determine whether an Environmental Impact Statement, a more comprehensive environmental review, is needed.
Interested parties may comment on the EAW during the public notice period, from Nov. 6 to Dec. 6, 2006 and the draft air emissions permit during the public notice period, from Nov. 11 to Dec. 11, 2006. Written comments must be received at the MPCA St. Paul office by 4:30 p.m. on the final day of the notice period.
