MPCA Training Events Calendar
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) offers training opportunities for those who must follow environmental regulations or get certain licenses or professional registrations. MPCA staff believes training is an integral part of helping people understand and comply with the rules and regulations which they must follow. About 4,000 people attend one or more of the approximately 50 training events held throughout the year.

Note that training dates, locations and fees are subject to change or cancellation. While you may be able to fill out registration forms electronically, the MPCA is unable to accept electronic submittal at this time. The MPCA can accept credit card payments using Visa or MasterCard.

Ten Steps to Hazardous Waste Compliance During the training session, MPCA staff will explain the10 steps to compliance: 1) Evaluate waste and determine generator size. 2) Get an EPA identification number. 3) Get a license (and applicable fees). 4) Choose and mark containers. 5) Accumulate and store hazardous waste. 6) Transport and dispose of hazardous waste. 7) Manifest hazardous waste. 8) Plan for emergencies. 9) Train employees.10) Keep records. |

Industrial Stormwater Sampling Exceedance Workshop Industrial facilities in Minnesota must comply with stormwater regulations, which now require stormwater runoff sampling and monitoring. This event will focus on responding to benchmark exceedances, selecting different management practices, and modifying stormwater pollution prevention plans. This event will not provide detailed design guidance for structural practices. This event is for anyone interested in learning about industrial stormwater requirements, especially industry staff responsible for facility compliance with industrial stormwater regulations and sites that have had test results indicating benchmark exceedance. The sampling requirements can be found in Parts V and VI of the Industrial Stormwater General Permit. |

Industrial Stormwater SWPPPs, Monitoring and Exceedance Workshop Industrial facilities in Minnesota are required to comply with stormwater regulations, which require developing a stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP), sampling and monitoring, and adapting to stormwater runoff quality exceedance from facilities. This event will cover all of these topics from SWPPP requirements and monitoring to response and selection of practices for SWPPP modification to benchmark monitoring test result exceedances. This event will not provide detailed design guidance for structural practices. This event is for anyone interested in learning about industrial stormwater requirements, especially industry staff responsible for facility compliance with industrial stormwater regulations and sites that have had test results indicating benchmark exceedance. |
